Tonight: Second Caprica episode

Caprica didn’t compete against last Friday’s broadcast of the Opening Ceremony of the Winter Olympics – in other words, the show was pre-empted, but Caprica returns with a brand-new episode today (9/8c on Syfy).

“Gravedancing” (1.04) was written by… well, a writer that has yet to be identified in public, strangely. And if it wasn’t for Luciana’s second BSGcast interview, we wouldn’t even know in advance that the episode was helmed by veteran director Michael Watkins.

Anyway, eight stills, one trailer and three preview clips can be found here at Caprica City.

Most importantly, “Gravedancing” marks the second appearance of Luciana in her recurring role as Priyah Magnus, “the best PR flack from Sagittaron”. She and Daniel Graystone didn’t exactly get off to a great start in “The Reins of a Waterfall“, so it’ll be interesting to see whether the going-on-Sarno strategy works, and whether Magnus will have a future in Graystone Industries.

Also, I’m hoping for more scenes involving Hiro Kanagawa’s Cyrus Xander. I love this guy. Caprica is really shaping up to be a wonderfully complex show chock full of fascinating characters.

By the way, as with the previous episode, “The Reins of a Waterfall”, Frosty_JG will post screencaps and Priyah clips at this blog. And once Luciana’s third and final episode, Michael Nankin’s “There Is Another Sky” (1.05), will have aired, we’ll present a shiny and comprehensive Caprica portal at the Fansite.
