Cast and characters of Deck the Halls

Two and a half weeks after we told you abot Deck the Halls, shooting of the mystery movie is well underway in Vancouver. And while we know very little about how the novel’s story is being adapted for television, we learnt alot about the cast and their roles.

Most importantly, Luciana confirmed that she plays Rosita Alvarado, Luke Reilly’s driver. In the novel she is described as a woman of Puerto Rican descent whith “a waterfall of dark curly hair”. Rosita has two little boys, Chris and Bobby. Their father left the family a while ago. Before she started driving Luke around, Rosita worked at his funeral-home office and “moonlighted as a limo driver”.

And here’s the rest of the cast:

  • Scottie Thompson (NCIS, Skyline, Trauma) as Regan Reilly, a young detective
  • David Selby (Dark Shadows, Falcon Crest, Tell Me You Love Me) as Regan’s father, Luke Reilly, the owner of several funeral homes
  • Jane Alexander (Eleanor and Franklin, The Great White Hope, Tell Me You Love Me) as Regan’s mother, Nora Reilly, a famous suspense and mystery writer
  • Kathy Najimi (King of the Hill, Sister Act, Veronica’s Closet) as Alvirah Meehan, a former cleaning woman who won the lottery and now works as a private eye
  • Larry Miller (8 Simple Rules… for Dating My Teenage Daughter, 10 Things I Hate About You, Dilbert) as Alvirah’s husband and fellow retiree, Willy Meehan
  • Patrick Gilmore (IntelligenceThe Killing, Stargate Universe) as Cuthbert Boniface Dingle, known as C.B.
  • Eric Johnson (Flash Gordon, Rookie Blue, Smallville) as Jack Reilly (not related to the protagonist’s family), the head of the Major Cases Squad in Manhattan, and a friend of Alvirah’s
  • Haig Sutherland (Hope Island, Robson Arms, Stargate Universe) as Alvin Luck, an unpublished writer and big fan of Nora’s who works as Santa in a department store

Roles whose actors have yet to be announced include Petey, a guy who teams up with C.B., and Fred Torres, a cop who went to dinner with Rosita a couple times.

We’ll soon know more about these and other aspects of the movie, too, I’m sure. Just make sure to follow us on Twitter and check our feed of tweets of people starring in, and related to, Deck the Halls.
